From a WhatsApp helper to Austria’s TRA platform

What started with Schöckl, Almenland and Bruck now covers 41 Austrian TRA airspaces. TRA Info Hub combines club reports with ATIS, Air Use Plan and relevant NOTAMs and makes the result available as live status, maps, archives, widgets and interfaces.

Live since 2025 Today

In productive pilot operations

A small tool has grown into a platform used every day by clubs, pilots and external tools.

  • Available across Austria
  • Automated data pipelines
  • Traceable and continuously expanded
41 Austrian TRAs in the current system
2,360 documented status actions since 1 January 2025
1,541 activations during the same period
3 automated source families ATIS · AUP/NUP · NOTAM

TRA figures are live from the database · source coverage was editorially reviewed in August 2026. Status actions include activations, extensions, deactivations and other documented decisions.

From the beginning to today

A concrete problem became shared infrastructure

Progress is not only about adding features. Every step removes friction, connects another data source or makes decisions easier to trace.

  1. January 2025

    Three TRAs, one concrete problem

A WhatsApp text generator for Schöckl, Almenland and Bruck makes activation information consistent and quick to share for the first time.

  2. 2025

From helper to an Austria-wide data foundation

Dashboard, roles, history and XContest integration grow to cover all current TRAs. ATIS, Air Use Plan and relevant NOTAMs flow automatically into status views and archives.

  3. Spring 2026

    Status becomes usable everywhere

Widget V2, live preview, QR codes, documented JSON interfaces, German and English, and the separation from BeyondXC establish a stable platform structure.

  4. Today

    The airspace situation becomes connected

Location presets, a vertical airspace section, MTA/MTMA/MCTR, more precise NOTAM geometries, protected areas and the historical activity query combine the sources into a traceable picture.

Delivered and in use

What the platform does today

The building blocks now work together from club operations through to external interfaces.

Digitised TRA operations

Authorised club roles activate, extend, limit and deactivate TRAs. Altitude overrides, prepared texts and history keep the workflow traceable.

Automated data pipelines

ATIS, AUP/NUP and relevant NOTAMs are continuously imported, normalised, prioritised and archived, including the FAA NMS source and quality diagnostics.

A map built as a working tool

XC Airspace Map combines TRA, AIP, AUP, MTA/MTMA/MCTR and NOTAM with altitude, country and location filters plus a vertical section.

A widget for every setup

Widget V2 provides live preview, location presets, an interactive selection map, QR code and diagnostics for sources, freshness and conflicts.

History made traceable

Archives, statistics, version comparison and the activity query reconstruct NUP/AUP, NOTAM and TRA logs with sources for any selected date.

Protected areas integrated

Nature, nesting and local restrictions are available as a time-aware data class in the map, widget, API and XCTrack export.

Interfaces established

Documented, approved JSON interfaces and exports supply XContest, XCTrack-compatible workflows, widgets and additional clients.

Platform operations hardened

Clear roles and club scopes, audit trails, protected activation and export paths, and responsive light, dark and system themes support daily operations.

More than a promise

Try the current state directly

The key results are publicly visible or ready to use.

Transparency matters

What the data deliberately does not promise

  • Air Use Plan data is reliably available in the archive from 5 July 2025.
  • Automatic ATIS TRA data is available across Austria from 1 July 2025; coverage before that date was regional.
  • LOXZ data has been partially available since 1 September 2025 and is handled separately for the Zeltweg special case.
  • The hub supports flight preparation but does not replace Homebriefing, current official NOTAMs or Austro Control publications.
The next useful step

What we are improving now

  • Complete more verified sources for protected areas and local restrictions.
  • Make NOTAM geometries, cross-source comparisons and conflict diagnostics even more precise.
  • Deepen field testing of location-based widget workflows with XCTrack and other real cockpit setups.
  • Expand platform, app and vario integrations as well as the English interface.
Keep building together
